Name: 夏聖香 Ka Seika
Age: 17 years, considered 1 year old at birth
Height: 163 cm or 5 ft 4 in.

Past: In the Middle Kingdom, the merchant family had been struggling to establish a niche for themselves. Her father, Kiichi, moodily shut himself in his office. The family despaired, believing he contemplated taking his life. Days later, a hoary-faced Kiichi flung open the doors. He presented an ambitious scheme to his siblings; they could reap significant profits from creating a vertical monopoly on spices, while branching into overlapping trades. It would be difficult to find local patrons willing to make the initial investment, but across the water was the dynamic realm of Nippon created by the Samurai Duelers League. Surely they would find the capital they needed there.

Present: While the written character of their surname did not change, the immigrating family members took on Japanese names. Among those names were Kiichi and Seika. Seika gets along well enough with her cousins. Being in a family business, they interact like siblings. Seika speaks to non-family members in Japanese with formal politeness, the tone somewhat offset by an accent she does not hide. She slips into Chinese when she loses her cool.
She is an utter daddy's girl. Wanting to help, she joined the League in order to find patrons, protectors, and partners. Her father became upset. He has yet to permit her to act as an official representative of the business.

Fighting Style: Seika is trying to avoid making enemies at the moment, keeping up a polite, smiling facade. When faced with what she deems unwarranted hostility, however, she drops insults without a change in tone. When verbal tricks are not enough to stun her opponent, out come the firecrackers and underhanded blows. Her objective, per her father's orders, is to get out of fights unscathed. She sees no shame in running away, relying on her endurance to outdistance pursuers.

Interests: In the city, the things that catch her eye are contraptions and jewellery, especially when combined. She keeps the family situation in mind though. For the one indulgence she could not part with, perfume, she makes it herself. Equipped with an herbalist's knowledge and a fire piston, Seika can survive on her own for a few days in the forest. There she finds ingredients with which to play amateur perfumer.
